Numerous
partners - one goal:
Surviving
in the 21st century
Hundreds
of animal species are exterminated wordwide every year because of the destruction
of natural habitats through mankind. The goal of the Stiftung Artenschutz, which
has existed since March 2001, is to save animals threatened by extinction and their
natural habitats in order to make a contribution to the protection of biodiversity,
along with numerous partners. We only support those animals whose protection could
not be financed sufficiently enough in the past, even though they are catagorized
as highly endangered according to the Red List of The World Conservation Union (IUCN).
Stiftung
Artenschutz reaches its goals in association with currently 45 other zoos, zoo gardens,
and organisations for the protection of the environment. They not only grant financial
support, but also help to raise the awareness of the public. Through the knowledge
of experts and finacial support the organisations are able to reach new goals in
the international protection of species. Each year more than 20 million people are
informed about the work of the foundation and their partners, and become aware of
the sponsors' commitment.
New
in the concept of the Stiftung Artenschutz, besides the conventional donation and
sponsoring, is the concept of recruiting companies in the business community as exclusive
supporters for a certain animal species.With the support of businesses the complicated
protection measures for the respective species, held by experts, can be realized.
As an incentive, the supportes will be identified and presented public-oriented on
the sponsor plaques, which are put up in the participating zoos, as exclusive supporters
in connection with "their" species.
